The Cool Whip Trophy is award to the winners of the Jim Benert Memorial Golf tournament. It represents Jimmy's common practice of bring his lunch to work in Cool Whip containers. It is also representative of Jimmy's character, because he was always willing to share whatever was in the container.
Jimmy's willingness to share went beyond sharing food in the Cool Whip containers; it also included regular blood donations to the Red Cross. So, in an attempt to keep Jim's tradition of giving to the Red Cross going, all proceeds from the tournament were donated to the Red Cross in Jimmy's name.
